I'm a big fan of Benny Green and McCoy Tyner! "Sunset" is an incredibly underrated ballad composed by a young McCoy Tyner in the 1960s. According to my knowledge, Tyner was in the early stages of his modal explorations during this timeframe.

Benny really captures the essence of this tune and the sounds that Monk made. As the years go by, I appreciate Monk more and more and I have listened to him since I was a child. What a treasure this is for me as a Jazz pianist to be able to see how these very complex voicings and passing tones are played correctly. Thank you again Benny.

What I appreciate about Cedar Walton is that he is a master of bebop phrasing (0:56-1:00, for example), understands the art of sequence, and has a bluesy sound that informs his approach to bebop/bop and improvisational sequence.

Great use of space, unisons in both hands, and rich harmony on this tune Benny! This is a long shot, Benny, but if you have time available to record a solo and trio album of all Cedar Walton tunes (Bolivia, Ugetsu, Cedar's Blues, etc.), I would love to hear it!

I think before even taking a peek of what he's doing in the right hand, study what he's doing with the left... The passing chords, notes and the groove he gets with it. Benny seems to have large hands and can cover a 10th in his left no problem.
